How long does fine hair have to be in order to get cornrows or 2 strand twists?

I have very fine hair which means that it is thick and curly, and is about 3 inches. My hair is said to not be long enough for either of these 2 styles right now, and instead i was given gel twists which turned out to be gel curls. How long does it need to be in order to get 2 strand twists preferably.

Depending on who is doing your hair, either double your natural length or consider getting hair extensions/hair weave if you want a braided style as soon as possible.

While a stylist with nimble fingers may be able to get your cornrows now, three inches may be too little for many to work with comfortably.

Your current comb twists (ideally, without gel which tends to make hair appear duller) are also a great way to get the effect of two strand twists.
