You could take a curling addative before trying to curl it such as a moose. VO5 makes one that i have used and it works very well. But you may need to use something more. When you use the moose though crunch your hair in your hands and push up to your head this should give you a curled look. Make sure to put loads of hairspray in. It'll be hard and crinkly but it works plus it always gives you that wet look!
